Ahhhh – the wonders of Africa and what better way to experience than on an Africa cruise! Whether safari-ing in the Ngorongoro Crater; cruising the Nile in the shadow of Aswan Dam; hot-air ballooning over the Serengeti; or riding the historic rails of the Garden Route outside of Cape Town on an Africa cruise excursion or when you cruise South Africa - Africa has it all! The land of many magical moments, cultures and unbelievable flora and fauna!  All that one can imagine is embodied in this great beautiful land and is accessible from any number of Africa cruises. The continent straddles both the Northern and Southern hemispheres and has many different sub regions worthy of several return trips back. The most popular region for cruising is a northern Africa cruise along the southern mediterranean sea referred to as “North Africa” including Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt (home to Cleopatra – historic Queen of all Africa cruises). The next Africa cruise region would be southern Africa where you can cruise South Africa including Namibia, South Africa, and Botswana. The third Africa cruise region would be East Africa home to the most famous Big 5 safaris and famous editorial accounts of Africa such as Elsa from Born Free, Out of Africa and famous paleoanthropologist Richard Leakey.

The call of the wild has an undiscerning pull and what better way to experience this escape back-to-nature than from the comforts of an Africa cruise ship! Whether you cruise South Africa or explore off the coast to one of the many other exotic Africa cruise island destinations in the Indian Ocean like Mauritius, Madagascar and the Seychelles, Africa cruises have it all!

Getting to your Africa Cruise or when you cruise South Africa:

Around the World cruises that include Africa cruise ports or have a cruise South Africa section - depending on the duration of the Africa cruise portion – often call at Port Louis (Mauritius), Tulear (Madagascar), Assumption Island, Mahe, Port Victoria (Seychelles) Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar (Tanzania). When you cruise South Africa ports include Richards Bay, Durban, Cape Town and/or Port Elizabeth.

Option 2

Specific regional Africa cruises and those that cruise South Africa will typically be roundtrip to Durban (South Africa), calling at a combination of Africa cruise destinations like Fort Dauphin (Madagascar), Port Louis or Nosy Be (Mauritius) Port Victoria (Seychelles) and Mozambique.
