  • Our 104 day World Cruise

We had an absolutely fabulous experince doing the world cruise. Just loved every day. Everything went so well, including our transfers from / to Melbourne.

Thank you so much for what you did to help us on our way, and we look forward to doing the "Cherry Blossom" cruise some time in the future.

    Kind regards,
    Noel and Mary

  • Oasis of the Seas

We had a fabulous cruise on the Oasis and will include something I sent home to the family for your interest. Here it is -

The ship is unbelievable and the technology aboard is just amazing. The ship was full with no spare cabins. There was around 8,800 of us on board with passengers and crew yet you did not feel crowded at any time. The layout of the ship is great. It is made up of neighbourhoods. For example - Boardwalk with a full size carousel with the big wooden horses etc ( the wiring alone for this is 2 1/2 times the length of the London Bridge), Royal Promenade - where a lot of the shops are. We went to two full musical parades during the cruise held here. It can hold thousands at a time. Central Garden - an area of thousands of plants and hundreds of trees, Sports Zone - this has two flow rider sites for Board riding on the ocean - a Zip line that runs across the top of the ship from the 16th level - I did this but could not get Elaine to do it, etc, etc. The Aqua Theatre at the back of the ship has amazing technology. Here we saw diving shows, water acrobatics, water fountain shows, fun water shows, like belly flop competitions etc. For the finale they dive from high up on each side of the ship - some 67 feet above the pool - it is quite spectacular to see. What happens under the water is amazing - including underwater cameras onto the two giant screens on each side of the pool. Just another example is that Elaine and I went on a back stage tour of the main theatre. Both the theatre and main dinning room are three levels high. The question was asked - "how does this theatre compare with Broadway/London Theatres etc." We were told that there is no other theatre stage in the world that is capable of doing the things they can do on that stage. One of the shows - Come Fly With Me- certainly shows that with people flying through the air from high up on the ship including flying right across the theatre and up to the second level. At one point one of the actors flew across our heads to the second level just feet above our heads sitting in the seats. The various shows were superb productions. Our favourite was the ice skating show. The costumes and skating were great and it was hard to realise you were watching this show while sailing in a ship in the tropics. We enjoyed it so much we were able to get in to see it twice. The shows book out really quickly. If you have not got a reservation for a show you can line up and 10 minutes before they show they will let you in if some people have not shown up.

Elaine and I said it was more like an experience rather than a cruise. It spoils you for other cruises as this is the peak of cruising. We certainly enjoyed our time on the ship. We can certainly recommend a cruise on it.

    David & Elaine
