Samoa no longer the last place on Earth

Samoa took an historic leap on the calendar last week when it literally skipped a day.
The switch in Samoa happened at midnight on Thursday 29 December, with the calendar jumping straight to Saturday 31 December, totally missing Friday 31 December.
This momentous decision was taken to bring Samoa inline with its major trading partners, Australia and New Zealand which were a day ahead. The impact for Samoa will be huge, allowing week day communication to be extended to five days a week rather than four.
