Egypt River Cruise Day 5

Hello from Day 5 in Egypt…..Cruising the Nile……
One thing I have failed to mentioned in my diary, are the sunsets you experience whilst cruising down the Nile. If you remember the movies “Death on the Nile” and “Jewel of the Nile” you would remember seeing the beautiful scenes as the boats slowly meanders down this amazing river… you can watch the sun set over the Western Sahara and it really feels just like being in those movies! Only difference is, you are doing it in style on Uniworld’s MV Tosca.
This morning we took a rather long drive to Dendara Temple. The history of the temple is legendary, it was known in ancient times as the “Castle of Sistrum”or Per Hathor – House of Hathor the goddess of Love, joy and beauty. Early afternoon and further cruising down the Nile heading towards our final destination of Aswan…Be out on deck as you approach the Aswan Lock you will discover a new way of shopping… Small boats row up-along side the boat and proceed to throw their goods up and over the rail. You barter over the side and throw the money or any unwanted items back into their boats – mildly amusing… It takes about an hour to pass through the lock but is well worth being on deck to watch.
This is our final night on Uniworld’s MV Tosca – a few more temple tomorrow and the we head off home….
