The True Fiji

What struck me most about the Fijians on my recent trip over, is their resilience! Even in the face of adversity they put on their smiley cheerful faces and never reveal a hint of any personal  turmoil in their every day life or an imminent category 4 cyclone looming off shore!

This warm Fijian welcome, coupled with the amazing islands scattered like a string of pearls over a turquoise ocean is a strong enough temptation to make you want to discover more of this colourful country.

A Captain Cook day cruise took me on a glorious outing to Mystery Island one of the tropical white sand islands off the main island of Viti Levu. Of all the day cruise trips I have ever taken, without a doubt this cruise, departing from Denarau island, was one of the best. Scrumptious food, followed by relaxation time on an unspoilt tropical island and truly heartfelt entertainment were the makings of a well organised and enjoyable itinerary!

One day is never long enough though and it only succeeded in fuelling my appetite to further explore the more remote Fiji islands.
